Tesla Model X: Pipes - High/Low Pressure - Charge Port to Rocker (Remove and Replace)

Removal

  1. Recover refrigerant from the vehicle (refer to procedure).
  2. Remove the front RH wheel (refer to procedure).
  3. Release the rearmost push clips (x7) that secure the wheel arch liner to the vehicle.

     Pipes - High/Low Pressure - Charge Port to Rocker (Remove and Replace)

  4. Remove the rearmost nut that secures the wheel arch liner to the stud on the chassis (torque 6 Nm).

  5. Move the rear portion of the front wheel arch liner for access to the charge-port-to-rocker high/low pressure pipes.
  6. Remove the nuts (x2) that secure the charge-port-to-rocker high/low pressure pipes to the rocker high/low pressure pipes (torque low pressure side 20 Nm, torque high pressure side 10.5 Nm).

  7. Remove the nut that secures the charge-port-to-rocker high/low pressure pipes bracket to the stud on the body of the vehicle (torque 5.5 Nm).

  8. Lower the vehicle.
  9. Remove the nut that secures the charge-port-to-rocker high pressure pipe to the charge port high pressure pipe (torque 10.5 Nm).

  10. Remove the nut that secures the charge-port-to-rocker low pressure pipe to the charge port low pressure pipe (torque 20 Nm).

  11. Remove the charge-port-to-rocker high/low pressure pipes from the vehicle.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

Caution: Lubricate new O-rings with clean refrigerant oil.

  1. Use a mirror to inspect the O-rings on the charge port high/low pressure pipes. Replace the O-rings if necessary.
  2. Recharge the refrigerant.
