Removal

Open the front door.
Lower the rear window.
Partially open the rear door.
Pull the brightwork and seal straight up to release it from the rear door.
Remove the outer belt seal from the vehicle.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal.

Removal Open the front door. Disconnect 12V power (refer to procedure). Remove the front door trim panel (refer to procedure). Remove the screws (x4) that secure the module backing plate to the door (torque 6 Nm). Caution: Do not remove the fasteners that

About the Security System

If Model X does not detect a key nearby and a locked door or trunk is opened, an alarm sounds. The headlights and turn signals also flash. To deactivate the alarm, press any button on the key fob. To manually enable or disable the alarm system, touch Controls > Safety > Security Alarm. Wh
