Tesla Model X: Battery Coolant Pump 2 (Remove and Replace)

Tesla Model X 2015-2025 Service Manual / Thermal Management / Battery Coolant Pump 2 (Remove and Replace)

Coolant pump locations:  

1 Powertrain coolant pump 1
2 Battery coolant pump 2
3 Powertrain coolant pump 2
4 Battery coolant pump 1
Removal
  1. Remove the HV Battery (refer to procedure).
  2. Clamp the coolant pump hoses, but do not release the hoses at this time.

     Battery Coolant Pump 2 (Remove and Replace)

  3. Disconnect the low voltage harness from the pump.
  4. Slide the pump off the bracket.
  5. Remove the hose from the bracket on the chassis.
Note: Place absorbent material or an appropriate receptacle underneath the pump to catch any coolant that is spilled in the next step.
  1. Release the hoses from the coolant pump.
  2. Remove the pump from the vehicle.
Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

Refill and bleed the cooling system (refer to procedure).
