Backup

  1. Connect a laptop with Toolbox to the vehicle.
  2. In the Toolbox "MCU Cloner" panel, select MCU Backup. Note: If the backup fails, continue to the next step. The MCU can be restored from the Instrument Cluster in the "Installation" section of this procedure instead.
  3. In the Toolbox "MCU Cloner" panel, select MCU Disable.
Removal
  1. Remove the MCU/touch screen (refer to procedure).
  2. Remove the touch screen surround trim (refer to procedure).
Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

Transfer the screen protector from the new touchscreen to the old one.

Restore

  1. In the Toolbox MCU Cloner panel, run the MCU Restore program. Note: If the MCU backup failed in the "Removal" section of this procedure, select MCU Restore from IC to restore the MCU files.
  2. Update the vehicle firmware.
  3. If the MCU backup failed in the "Removal" section of this procedure, open the Toolbox "Reset Remote Unlock Security Key" panel and press the Start button.
