Tesla Model X: Housing - Filter - HEPA (Remove and Replace)

Tesla Model X 2015-2025 Service Manual / Thermal Management / Housing - Filter - HEPA (Remove and Replace)

Note: Some vehicles are equipped with a HEPA filter element bonded to the filter housing.

Remove

  1. Remove the underhood storage unit (refer to procedure).
  2. Gently release the filter housing from the duct.

     Housing - Filter - HEPA (Remove and Replace)

    Caution: If the filter housing has a HEPA filter element, set the filter with the plastic trim side facing down. Do not damage the filter.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following: If the vehicle is being retrofitted with the HEPA filter element, use Toolbox to change the vehicle configuration as follows:

  1. Connect a laptop with Toolbox to the vehicle.
  2. Change the "Intake Air Filter Type" to HEPA.
